2009–2010—Our 10th anniversary season!

To celebrate this special season, we commissioned two new works and dedicated a concert to our founding benefactor.

  • The first commissioned piece, I Have No Music by Jerry Brubaker, premiered at our Christmas concerts in December 2009.
  • The second commissioned piece, Night Sings to Morning by Jeffrey Van, premiered at our final concert of the season in June 2010. The composer also was our guest guitar accompanist for this performance.

We dedicated our March 2010 concert, the Fauré Requiem, to William Martin—a friend to many and our first benefactor. See The Birth of a Chamber Chorus to learn how Bill Martin's bequest helped found VOICES XXI, and My Friend Bill to enjoy some anecdotes recalling Bill's history with many of the founders of our ensemble.
